About Us

David and Yekaterina met at the Technical University of Munich and quickly bonded over their shared love for heritage and… their curiosity. Since graduating with M.A. degrees in Architecture, they have embarked on this journey.

The monument care complex is an extremely personal and emotionally-loaded field, subject to criticism from not only professionals, but every part of the general public. The conservator-restorer, the architect, yes even the construction worker has to take responsibility facing the general public.

In our podcast we would plead for more transparency in heritage fields, support an active exchange of professionals and amateurs, and finally strive for a mutual understanding of both.

David Wolf
M.A. Architecture

David completed his masters in architecture from TUM in 2024, specialising on heritage protection. Working at the chair for Conservation and Kayser, Böttges | Barthel, Maus, David has gained experience in both the theoretical and practical. He is starting his PhD now at the University of Tokyo writing on industrial heritage.

Why the podcast? As early as my first semester I was shaped by a public lecture held by Volker Staab on their new museum based in the Nymphenburger Schloss. Countless upset residents of the area were infiltrating this lecture, publicly exposing the architect. This early experience has made myself an ardent defender of an open heritage discourse.

Yekaterina Martinez Panina
M.A. Architecture

Yekaterina holds a masters degree in architecture from TUM during which she specialised on heritage protection. After completing exchanges at the Moscow Institute of Architecture and the University of Tokyo, she gained a deeper insight into international tendencies in the use and reuse of heritage.

Why the podcast? I was curious to meet people. This allowed me to do that. David and I have been friends for some time and decided to undertake this project together and have conversations with like-minded people. My aim? I’m just a bit of a nerd.
